Who are we ?

Our raison d'être

We want to raise awareness of this tumor, and ultimately, that there will be no more victims of progestin hormone treatments that induce this tumor.

Amavea is an association dedicated to supporting every patient affected by meningiomas.

The association was officially recognized by the Ministry of Solidarity and Health on July 8, 2020 (Official Journal).

Amavea's goal is to support every potential or confirmed victim of meningioma who contacts us. Meningioma is a side effect of synthetic progestins and estrogens.

All of these treatments, without exception, are implicated in the development of meningiomas. These intracranial tumors can be particularly dangerous. Therefore, we are committed to gathering and disseminating all information on this subject.

Meningioma to as a "benign" tumor. This scientific term masks a disease that is anything but benign. These tumors are complex to treat, sometimes requiring delicate surgical procedures and lengthy recovery periods. This disease can profoundly disrupt the lives of those affected.
