My name is Florence, I am 54 years old, I was made with a meningioma in 2006 in Paris following a discovery completely by chance.
I had been suffering from migraines for a very long time but the episodes being stronger, I asked my general practitioner to pass an MRI in order to make sure that everything was fine. At the time, I was discovered a 3.5 cm meningioma behind at the base of the head. I am completely depressed.
My operation went very well, I stayed a week in the hospital, still with a big migraine and I returned to work after a month without any sequelae. I continued my regular surveillance by MRI until March 2021 where I pass my exam, RAS, I go to my consultation in September at the hospital, the flower in the rifle, asking my new neurologist who follows me (the former having retired) if the MRI every 5 years are really necessary because it has been 15 years since I was operated.
And there, disaster, he tells me that my meningioma is postponing (the radiologist had not seen anything!) And that he will surely have to make shelves in order to avoid an operation in a few years. I go out in tears of consultation and angry after the imaging center. I call them some time after to tell them my dissatisfaction and the radiologist reminds me that for her, everything was as before but that if the neurologist said, he was surely right !!!!
I am a little lost and this is where I get to know Amavea and on the good advice of Emmanuelle, that I thank a lot, I will meet Professor Pallud who confirms the diagnosis and send me to see Doctor Dhermain to do Cyberknife. Business to follow…. I am in excellent hands.
All that to say that even if we are found a meningioma, it happens that everything is going well and that we have no sequelae and that we can live normally. I wanted to give positive testimony to help some people who are surely worried by reading other testimonies. Good luck to all ...
