Documentation about meningioma and fact sheets to help you cope with this disease.
A meningioma is a tumor of the meninges, most often located in the skull, but it can also occur in the spine. There is very comprehensive information available online explaining this condition. Doctors, and neurosurgeons in particular, can explain these tumors very clearly.
The AMAVEA association works to help patients better understand how to cope with meningiomas.
In this context, we have developed, in collaboration with surgeons, several practical guides which you will find below. Other documents will soon be available, such as the Patient Booklet which we are currently working on.
Thanks to our Facebook support group , to people who have had surgery or not whom we know personally, to our members , and to our own experience, we have a clear and practical vision of how to live with a meningioma , how to cope with the operation , what the alternative solutions to the operation are, and how to experience convalescence after the operation of a meningioma .
Each testimony from people with meningiomas touched us deeply and helped us better understand the journey of living with this disease. We hope that the documents provided will offer you the information and support you need.
Feel free to contact us to discuss this further.
If you are reading this page because of the various alerts concerning medications that can cause meningiomas as a side effect ( Androcur , Lutényl , Lutéran ), you will also find information about signs . Consult your doctor; they will then be able to manage the situation. If an MRI is prescribed, the information sheet "Undergoing an MRI" may be helpful.
