We present to you a study by Doctor ML Raffin-Sanson at the Ambroise Paré hospital, in collaboration with the Institute of the Brain and the Moles (ICM) and various clinical services in particular of neurosurgery (Pitié-Salpêtrière, Lariboisière ...), and endocrinology (Ambroise Paré, Cochin, Pitié, Saint-Antoine, Saint-Antoine, Saint-Antoine, Saint-Antoine, Saint-Antoine.
The public assistance Hospitals of Paris developed for this study which received the agreement of the CPP Sud-Est IV Persons Protection Committee on 03/16/2021
The Andromede research project which aims to identify a genetic predisposition to develop meningiomas under Androcur and related drugs.
Indeed, everyone does not develop a meningioma under Androcur, and there are arguments strong enough to evoke a predisposition in some people.
Current techniques allow, on condition of gathering a sufficient number of cases , to identify markers from DNA (polymorphic genetic variants) which would be associated with a more or less important risk of developing a meningioma under Androcur , which would of course have a significant impact in clinic, because even if, fortunately, the prescriptions of the Androcur are better controlled, the drug remains indicated in certain cases and a more specific evaluation of the risk will be very precise. useful.
To do this, it is necessary to collect the greatest number of possible cases, if possible more than 300.
This Andromede project was therefore implemented which has been promoted APHP, and the authorization of the CPP (Protection Committee of Persons- Lyon Sud) .
It mainly concerns women over the age of 18:
- Having developed one or more meningiomas under Androcur ° (Cyproterone acetate)
- or having long taken androcur ° without developing meningiom e.
It is also desired to include as witnesses:
- Women who have developed a meningioma without having taken Androcu r ° or acetate of Chlormadinone ( Lotéran °), nor of nomigestrol acetate ( lutenyl °)
- and women who do not have meningioma and have never taken androcur ° or acetate from Chlormadinone ( Lotéran °), nor nomestrol acetate ( Lentenyl °) .
The procedure is simple:
- You have to learn about the Andromede- La Pitié study , and sign the informed consent.
- You just have to rub off the internal side of the cheek with a swab. This swab is replaced in its tube, with a desiccutor, and is returned by post in a pre-affranchia envelope.
- You must also fill out a questionnaire (which can also be done by phone).
