After the Androcur, Lotéran, Lotényl and Risks of Méningiomes
We can still read too often on discussion forums, or on Facebook groups that, of course, it has been proven that Androcur could give meningiomas, but that it is not for luteran and lutenyl, and that these drugs have no danger.
First of all, no drug presents Acucun Danger. Any medication has side effects.
Then, the ASM studies are underway to quantify the risk, but alerts have already been done, and this for more than a year!
It was renewed in October 2019.
The National College of French Gynecologists and Obstetricians (CNGOF) has also relayed information.
See here.
Many gynecologists inform their patients of the risk. However, there are still too many cases where information is not given. And worse, when the patient talks about it, this information is denied!
We hope that this situation is changing quickly, and that some gynecologists will no longer be in a denial that has already had women who have developed meningiomas for years because of these treatments.
