The aim of AMAVEA is to allow people with meningiomas to communicate with each other and to talk about drug treatments Androcur, Lotéran, Lotényl and others.

You can talk about life after operation of meningioma , meningioma and fatigue , and convalescence after operation of meningioma , consequences, but also the question "can a meningioma regress?"

To support victims and people with meningiomas, the association has put online on Facebook the private discussion group: Facebook group Amavea.

According to the directors of the group, Sarah:
the idea is for me to federate the victims, to support them, to allow people to make links, in their medical history, with symptoms, to support them, when they discover "reality" of this injustice by MRI. To support them, especially when they have an entourage little inclined to listen, but also to encourage them, to never fold the spine in front of the medical profession.
And finally, to demand, each of our “small” level, to be taken care of with all the seriousness and the empathy that we deserve. In short, ensuring that a “positive” dynamic floats on the group, so that no one feels injured, alone, in their corner, facing this.
Offering a space of speech to all, it is the minimum that we set with this kind of group, where benevolence and listening must be the engines.

Legal procedures

One of the objectives of the AMAVEA association is to support the victims who have developed meningiomas following the taking of hormonal treatments such as Androcur , Luteran and Lotényl in their legal procedures to request compensation.

Maître Charles JOSEPH-OUDIN, lawyer at the court, of the Dante cabinet, advises us, supports us and proposes to assist the victims in legal procedures.

Following its immediate involvement on the file of Méningiomes victims, a letter requesting documents to the ANSM was sent on 04/04/2019 which will allow the association a very rapid advance on the androcur file ( Cyproterone acetate ). Document requests have also been made at EMA (European Medicines Agency) and WHO.

This joint work will allow, beyond the legal aspect, to be also extremely beneficial within the framework of information and the prevention of meningiomas linked to Androcur, Luteran and Lotényl.

  • On 04/03/2019, Dante launched legal proceedings for the victims of Androcur,
  • First audiences on 05/29/2019: audiences postponed to 13/09/2019 with filing of new complaints.
  • On September 13, 2019, the Bobigny court examined the requests of the victims for legal expertise ,
  • On October 29, 2019: first victory, the court agrees with the victims and ordered legal expertise. Independent experts are appointed.
  • On June 17, 2020, Dante and the AMAVEA association made a common press release following the ANSM announcements on Lotéran and Lotényl. Read the press release here
