A mutual aid network
Amavéa is also aimed at bringing together the testimonies of victims. We want to create a support network, use all the means available to promote the dissemination of information and good care practices. This network will facilitate the medical journey of people, their administrative and legal procedures to request compensation for the damage suffered.
Amavea, an association to help and group the victims of Méningiome linked to Androcur, Luteran and Lotényl
Through our association, we will call to the unity of people to whom meningiomas have been discovered and who have been under hormonal treatment, whatever it is. Today, without understanding why, they see their lives transformed. To join our association is to federate our forces to show that the effects of drugs derived from progestogen or estrogenic hormones are a reality with sometimes very serious consequences. Your support through your membership will allow us to create a network throughout France. Each region needs spokespersons capable of relaying the association's information and advice. Thus each person who takes hormonal treatment derived from sex hormones can do so knowingly.
Request damage management
We took Charles Joseph-Oudin and Guillaume Bruneau-Queyreix from the Dante cabinet as lawyers of the association. They are also personal lawyers for the members of the office (Emmanuelle, President and Nathalie, secretary). You will see on the site a document of their hand (in legal procedures ) which explains how they work and their prices. You can call them now to their office if you want to have information. They are so involved in our fight that they went to see Sainte-Anne a meningiomal operation, on the proposal of Professor Pallud, neurosurgeon. So they realize what some of us have suffered. And they will be able to say in the media our suffering and the fact that this operation is nothing benign! These two lawyers are already working to help victims of the Mediator, Depakine, H1N1 and Essure.
Prevention of meningioma risks, a side effect of synthetic hormones
The risks of meningioma linked to Androcur have been known since 2007. Since Professor Sébastien Froelich, neurosurgeon, communicates in congresses around the world on this problem.
The National Medicines Safety Agency (ANSM) informed doctors and patients in June 2018 of the possible effects of Androcur , not to mention other molecules. The prevention work in relation to the side effects of these drugs is still only in its infancy. On February 7, 2019, the ANSM finally took into account the Luteran and the Lotényl , as molecules that can induce the same problems. But much remains to be done.
The AMAVEA association actively participates in patient information on the risks linked to these drugs. We participate in the ANSM working groups but also in press articles in order to inform as many people as possible of the risks of these drugs.
